The City of Port St. Lucie is set to honor the men and women who lost their lives while serving in the U.S. military with a Memorial Day service on Monday, May 27, 2024. The event will take place at Veterans Memorial Park and aims to provide a moving tribute that recognizes and commemorates fallen heroes from all generations.
The public is invited to join city staff and guests at this special event organized by the City of Port St. Lucie. The ceremony will commence at 10 a.m. at Veterans Memorial Park, located at 2100 SE Veterans Memorial Parkway, Port St. Lucie.
Guest speakers are scheduled to share personal stories during the ceremony, including retired Bobbi Williams and LTC(R) TCMOAA. Their narratives will ensure that veterans are honored and remembered appropriately.
Additionally, the ceremony will feature a performance of "God Bless America" and an armed forces medley by the Port St. Lucie Community Band. Other highlights include a rifle salute, the national anthem, a resounding of taps, among other activities.
Vice Mayor Jolien Caraballo is expected to be among the notable figures attending the Memorial Day Service.
Given that seating is limited for this event, attendees are advised to arrive early and bring their own chairs.
