The City of Port St. Lucie is gearing up for its annual Caring Community Cleanup Day, scheduled for April 13 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Volunteers will gather at Port St. Lucie City Hall to participate in the community event aimed at beautifying the city and fostering a sense of unity among residents.
Meighan Beckett, the KPSLB Program Manager, expressed enthusiasm for the event, stating, “This event is a wonderful example of how much we can accomplish when we work together toward our goal of keeping Port St. Lucie beautiful. It’s a day full of teamwork, community pride, and fun. Every individual who participates is making a difference in our neighborhoods and across the City.”
Participants can expect a day filled with various activities and refreshments provided by local businesses and organizations. From breakfast sponsored by Walmart to lunch served by FCC Environmental Services, volunteers will be well taken care of throughout the event. Entertainment will be provided by Bryan Vitta, and attendees can even try their luck at winning St. Lucie Mets tickets in a raffle.
To join the cleanup efforts, individuals and groups are encouraged to register online, with T-shirts and litter tools provided on the day of the event. Preregistration is recommended, but walk-in participants are also welcome to take part in the initiative. The cleanup will kick off at 8:30 a.m., following a breakfast gathering at 7:30 a.m. at City Hall.
In addition to volunteering for the cleanup, businesses, organizations, and exhibitors can also get involved by registering for a 12x12 space at the event. Exhibitors are required to bring their own setup equipment and must be set up by 9:30 a.m. on the day of the event.
For those interested in becoming exhibitors or seeking more information about the event, Keep Port St. Lucie Beautiful can be contacted at 772-871-7000 or via email at KPSLB@cityofpsl.com.
Furthermore, the initiative extends beyond the Cleanup Day, as local schools, businesses, organizations, homeowners’ associations, and churches are encouraged to conduct cleanups throughout the month of April. Businesses and organizations are also encouraged to contribute as exhibitors or donate raffle prizes to support the volunteers. Photos of cleanup efforts can be shared on social media or submitted to kpslb@cityofpsl.com, ensuring the spirit of community cleanup resonates throughout Port St. Lucie beyond the designated event day.
