U.S. Representative Brian Mast (FL-21) has introduced legislation calling for a moratorium on all American aid to Gaza and the Palestinian-controlled West Bank. The legislation aims to reinstate the policy implemented by the Trump Administration, which prohibited funds from being deployed to Palestinian-controlled areas.

Mast emphasized that President Trump's refusal to provide funding to terrorist organizations was the correct approach. He criticized President Biden for reversing this policy, stating, "Anyone who thinks that every dollar sent to Gaza right now isn't going straight into Hamas' pocket is delusional." Mast pointed to reports of Hamas fighters stealing fuel and food boxes intended for children as evidence that funding would only benefit an enemy engaged in a conflict with Israel.

During the Trump Administration, funds from the Department of State's Economic Support Fund and the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) were reallocated to ensure they aligned with U.S. national interests and provided value to American taxpayers.

Mast stressed that Hamas, a designated terrorist organization, is involved in war crimes, including the bombing of a hospital and the torture of civilians. He argued that no U.S. tax dollars should be used to finance these atrocities, either directly or indirectly.
