This afternoon we said our final goodbyes to Deputy Alan Reffsin. On Feb. 17, he would have turned 66 years old.
Prior to joining our agency, Alan retired from the Fort Lauderdale Police Department after 21 years of service. He joined our agency in 2004 and had just completed his 18th year. May he rest in peace.
We extend our deepest sympathies to the Reffsin family. Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with you during this difficult time.
Thank you to our fellow law enforcement agencies who showed up to support us today and thank you to our community for your outpouring of support and love. We greatly appreciate all of you.
