Indian River County Sheriff’s Office, Community Affairs Unit, AG Marine Unit, K9 Unit, and the Sebastian Police Department K9 Unit, visited Vero Beach High School for a daily activity, community awareness project, for the ESE students.

For the past few summer school programs, Teachers, Todd Wood, and Stephen Byrd, started a week long theme. This weeks theme is “Appreciating Our Hometown Heroes.” Monday’s theme was the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, Tuesday was the Indian River County Fire Rescue, and today was Law Enforcement.

This program provides education, awareness, and demonstrations, to the Exceptional Student Education (ESE) program. Participants learned about law enforcement, K9, and AG Marine. K9 Willow and Sergeant Reimsnyder were a huge hit with the students. Deputy Haffield allowed the students to board the airboat and then started it up to show them how it operates. All students were provided a goodie bag from the Community Affairs Unit. A special thank you to everyone who attended.
