The City of Port St. Lucie is inviting artists to participate in two public art projects aimed at enhancing the community's visual landscape. The first opportunity, managed by the City of Port St. Lucie Community Redevelopment Agency, seeks six artists or artist teams to design and install site-specific artworks on prefabricated anchor sculptures at The Port District.

Eligible artists from St. Lucie, Indian River, Martin, or Okeechobee counties with a background in public art are encouraged to submit their designs. Selected artists will be tasked with conceptualizing and installing a design on one of the anchors, which measure 72 inches tall by 56 inches wide by 6 inches deep. These will be mounted on metal baseplates atop concrete platforms. Each participating artist or team will receive $2,500 upon project completion and approval.

Artists must submit a packet including a cover letter, qualifications, and up to ten examples of past work in PDF format by Monday, April 7 at 3 p.m. A selection committee will evaluate submissions.

The second initiative invites both amateur and professional artists of all ages to contribute to a project that transforms metal utility boxes into vibrant artworks reflecting Florida’s natural beauty. As new utility boxes are installed or existing ones need refurbishment, they will be adorned with artwork wraps depicting local flora and fauna, landscapes, endangered species, or unique neighborhood features.

There are no restrictions on the type of art for this project; drawings, paintings, and photographs are welcome. Submissions will be reviewed by the City's Public Art Advisory Board based on artistic quality, thematic relevance, and printability.

For more information about submission requirements for both projects and details about the City's Public Art Master Plan, interested parties can visit CityofPSL.com/art.
