Congressman Brian Mast (FL-21) has proposed legislation to rename a United States Post Office building in honor of fallen Florida Highway Patrol Trooper Zachary Fink.

Mast stated, “Trooper Fink dedicated his life to making our community a safer place. His tragic death left us all with a heavy heart. Trooper Fink’s bravery and selflessness should inspire us all. He is a hero and should never be forgotten.”

Fink, a native of St. Lucie County, graduated from the Florida Highway Patrol academy in December 2020. His life was tragically cut short in February during a high-speed chase with a fleeing felon. He is survived by his mother, father, and fiance.

If passed, Mast's bill would see the U.S. Post Office building at 290 NW Peacock Boulevard in Port St. Lucie renamed after Trooper Fink.
