The City of Port St. Lucie is set to host a groundbreaking ceremony for the Stars and Stripes Park on Thursday, April 25, 2024, from 9:30-10:30 a.m. The park, located at 12441 SW Village Pkwy, Port St. Lucie, FL, will be a 26.5-acre passive park with a patriotic theme.
According to the announcement, the park will feature giant, gleaming star sculptures, symbols, messages, and inspirational quotes from veterans and first responders. In early 2025, residents will have the opportunity to explore this new park, which is situated east of SW Village Parkway on Open View Road, across from Del Webb Tradition.
Guest speakers at the groundbreaking ceremony will include Mayor Shannon Martin, Brad Keen - the Assistant Director of the Parks & Recreation Department, and Chris Barnes - the Deputy Director of the Compensation & Pension Product Line at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
Upon completion, the City of Port St. Lucie's Parks & Recreation Department will be responsible for the maintenance of the facility.
