The City of Port St. Lucie is extending its popular Business Tax Workshop Series to provide ongoing support and resources to local small business owners. These workshops are designed to equip both aspiring entrepreneurs and seasoned business owners with the essential knowledge and tools needed for success at any stage of their business journey.
Yvonne White Grayson, Business Tax Manager with the City of Port St. Lucie, emphasized the city's commitment to supporting entrepreneurs, stating, "These workshops demonstrate the City's commitment to provide invaluable resources to entrepreneurs. City staff members and a panel of experts are brought together throughout the year to offer insights that can contribute to the long-term success of small businesses in Port St. Lucie."
The Business Tax Workshops cover a range of topics related to starting or expanding a small business. They will be held either virtually or in person at the Council Chambers in City Hall. The address is 121 SW Port St. Lucie Blvd., Building A.
To kick off the workshop series in January, Florida Community will be presenting a session on Free Transactional Legal Assistance for Small Businesses and Non-profits. This session will provide valuable legal guidance for business owners. Registration is required for the virtual session.
In February, weVENTURE will present a session on Creating Your Business Plan. This workshop will focus on the importance of a solid business plan and how to create one effectively. Registration is required to attend virtually.
Additionally, there will be a session on New Business Start-up in Española, presented by the City of Port St. Lucie Business Tax. This session will provide information specifically tailored to Spanish-speaking entrepreneurs. Registration is required to attend virtually.
Another session in February will feature two presentations. ClearSEM Solutions will present on Doing Business with Google, offering insights on how to effectively leverage Google for business success. The Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation will also present on Contractor Scams and Fraud, providing valuable information to protect business owners from scams. Registration is required to attend virtually.
Lastly, ACCH Insurance Agency will present a session on How to be Insured. This session will provide guidance on understanding insurance options and ensuring adequate coverage for business needs. Registration is required to attend virtually.
All workshops are free to attend and registration is encouraged. The City of Port St. Lucie offers this program as a public service to support the local business community.
