Starting Monday, June 27, crews will begin work on a pickleball complex inside the Lakewood Park Regional Park.
Nidy Sports Construction of Orlando will begin work on the new fenced-in, outdoor, four-court pickleball area, located east of the pool. Work is expected to be finished between 60 to 90 days, depending on weather. Funding for this project comes from Parks Impact Fees. Construction is not expected to impact any of the park amenities or activities, except for basket No. 6 in the disc golf course, which will be eventually be relocated east of the new pickleball courts.
Located at 5990 Emerson Ave., the Lakewood Park Regional Park encompasses 156 acres featuring gravel and grass trails, multi-use athletic fields (baseball, softball, soccer, football), an 18-basekt disc golf course, a zero-entry swimming pool, playground and pavilions. This site is managed by St. Lucie County’s Parks and Recreation Department.
