County of St. Lucie issued the following announcement on Dec. 23.
Make a New Year’s Resolution to get more family time in at St. Lucie County Libraries as staff offer a variety of programs all ages.
- S.T.E.A.M. Power! Explore the world of science, technology, engineering, art and math in fun ways. Learn about weather, rainbows, color, motion and more. Most suitable for students in grades K-5.
- Lakewood Park Branch on Thursday, Jan. 6 at 3:30 p.m.
- Lewis Branch at Saturday, Jan. 8 at 2:30 p.m.
- Movie for Kids: “Luca” on Saturday, Jan. 8 at 2:30 p.m. at the Morningside Branch. On the Italian Riviera, an unlikely but strong friendship grows between a human being and a sea monster disguised as a human. This 2021 Disney release is rated PG with a running time of 95 minutes.
- S.T.E.A.M. Storytime! Explore the world of science, technology, engineering, art & math in a story time. Most suited for ages 3-6.
- Kilmer Branch Library - Wednesday, Jan. 12 and Jan. 26 at 10:30 a.m.
- Music & Motion at Morningside on Thursday, Jan. 13 at 10:30 a.m. Action songs, movement, singing, instruments and fun for all ages.
- Bi-lingual Storytime. Enjoy a bi-lingual story time in both English and Spanish.
- Lewis Branch on Friday, Jan. 14 at 10:30 a.m. (Most suited for ages 3-5 years)
- Morningside Branch (all ages) on Saturday, Jan. 15 at 10:30 a.m.
- Fall Family Fun Day on Friday, Jan. 14 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Lakewood Park Branch Come by the library for a fun-filled afternoon of awesome fall activities from sidewalk chalk to bubbles for all ages.
- Make and Take Crafts at the Morningside Branch on Saturday, Jan. 29 at 2:30 p.m. Stop by the library and enjoy crafts to make and take home to treasure. Most suitable for students in grades K-5.
- Roblox at Lakewood Park Branch every Saturday in January from 10 a.m. to noon. Explore a virtual universe that lets you create and share experiences with others. Open play on all children’s computers (ages 12 and older).
- Color Your World at the Lakewood Park Branch. Stop by the library throughout January for coloring fun. All supplies provided. All ages welcome.
- Grab n’ Go Project at the Lakewood Park Branch. A different fun craft is available any time, all month long. Best suited for ages 5-10. All materials supplied.
- Tween Techies on Tuesday, Jan. 4 from 2:30 to 4 p.m. at the Lakewood Park Branch. Test your skills with computers and technology. Check out stations with different robots like Ozobots, Artie and more. Best Suited for ages 8-12.
- Young Teen Time on Saturday, Jan. 15 at 2:30 p.m. at the Lewis Branch. Create a bead animal pendant. All materials supplied. Most suited for students in grades 5-8.
- Super Smash Bros Gaming Tournament on Saturday, Jan. 22 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Lewis Branch. Test your skills on Switch against other players in a Smash Bros contest. Most suited for kids ages 11-18.
- Teens Making Movies on Saturday, Jan. 29 at the Lewis Branch. Learn skills for making your own digital movies. Best suited for kids ages 11 -18.
- Off the Chain Crochet for Teens on Tuesdays from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at the Hurston Branch. Do you know how to crochet or would you like to learn? Our teen program is open to all skill levels. Learn new stitches and techniques or just come and crochet with others.
- Tween Tech Challenge anytime during January. The Lakewood Park Branch offers a chance to test your skills with computers and technology. This self-guided challenge takes about an hour and can be done at your leisure. Go it alone or work together to master the challenge

- Rhythm & Rhyme on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. at the Morningside Branch. Toddler storytime: Early literacy through rhymes, stories, movement and more. For ages 2 1/2 years and older.
- Storytime Jam - Reading & Rhythm at 10:30 a.m. - Clap, dance and listen to stories. For ages 3 to 5.
