St. Lucie County issued the following announcement on Nov. 30.
The main office of the Savannas Recreation Area and Campground will be closed Monday, Dec. 6 through Wednesday, Dec. 8 for maintenance. The recreation area and campground will be open for passive recreation; however, visitors will not be able to use the main office to reserve campsites or rent kayaks.
Located at 1400 E. Midway Road, the Savannas Recreation Area is managed by St. Lucie County Parks & Recreation and features more than 550 acres for RV and tent camping with kayak/canoe rentals and hiking/biking trails.
Staff apologies in advance for the inconvenience and plans to reopen the main office by 8 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 9. For more information please call: 772-464-7855.
