Veterans Day Parade on November 11, 2021

Veteran

Martin County recently issued the following announcement.

The Annual Veteran’s Day Parade and Ceremony, sponsored by the Veterans Council of Martin County, will be held on Thursday, November 11 from 10 a.m. to noon in Stuart.

Veteran’s Day is an opportunity to honor all those who served and continue to serve in the U.S. Armed Forces.

Originally this day was called Armistice Day, signaling the end of WWI, in which an armistice was signed at eleven o’clock in the morning on the eleventh day of the eleventh month. After WWII, Armistice Day became what is today - Veteran’s Day, a day in which we honor all American veterans.

This year’s Veteran’s Day will bring the sound of freedom to Martin County, with military aircraft flyover formations soaring across the skies in downtown Stuart.

The event will commence with a parade led by veterans and veteran service organizations followed by various community groups.

Parade Details:

The parade will begin at 10 a.m. on Amerigo Avenue and will travel down East Ocean Boulevard, concluding at Memorial Park.

The ceremony and flyover at Memorial Park will begin at 11:11 a.m. with guest speaker Dr. Lisa M. Kirk, Lt. Col (ret).

The Veterans Council of Martin County is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing services to all Martin County military veterans. One of the principal functions of the council is to assist homeless veterans and those veterans in need of assistance.
