Martin County Board of County Commissioners issued the following announcement on Oct. 15.

This project includes the removal and reconstruction of the 230' two-lane bridge over the C-23 Canal, along with other improvements. Work on the east side of the Murphy Road bridge is now almost complete with construction on the west side of the bridge expected to start in November. This project is anticipated to be complete in April 2022.

All clean concrete material from the bridge demolition is being utilized for the Artificial Reef Program.

This infrastructure reinvestment project is funded by a collaboration with Martin County and Florida Department of Transportation mostly through grants and local tax funded contributions.
