The City of Port St. Lucie has been named a finalist for the 2025 All-America City Award by the National Civic League. This nomination recognizes the city's efforts in engaging its residents in decision-making and strategic initiatives.

The National Civic League has been awarding the All-America City Award for over 75 years. The award highlights civic innovation, recognizing communities that collaborate locally to drive change. Each year, municipalities across the United States apply for this award, showcasing how their civic relationships and networks contribute to solving problems and increasing resilience.

Doug Linkhart, President of the National Civic League, noted that "this year's twenty finalists have distinguished themselves through their commitment to strengthening environmental sustainability, using inclusive community engagement to create lasting, impactful solutions."

The award, which has been given annually to ten communities since 1949, lists this year's finalists as Akron, Ohio; Albuquerque, New Mexico; Austin, Texas; Carrboro, North Carolina; Chelsea, Massachusetts; Delray Beach, Florida; Denver, Colorado; Fort Collins, Colorado; Hampton, Virginia; Jacksonville, North Carolina; Kinston, North Carolina; Leominster, Massachusetts; Memphis, Tennessee; Petaluma, California; Port St. Lucie, Florida; Seattle, Washington; Snyder, Texas; Statesboro, Georgia; Tallahassee, Florida; and the Western Riverside Region in California.

The finalists were chosen through a competitive process by an independent panel of experts. The applications were evaluated on shared vision, civic engagement, inclusiveness, equity, collaboration, innovation, and impact. These communities are preparing for the next stage of the competition, the All-America City Award Event, set to take place in Denver this June. At this event, they will present their stories of success and demonstrate the impact of their initiatives.

Port St. Lucie's application highlights various engagement activities involving the city, its residents, and the community. Notable programs include the annual #IamPSL Citizen Summit and citizen-driven strategic planning, as well as major environmental efforts like the Septic-to-Sewer program, the St. Lucie River/C-23 Water Quality Project at McCarty Ranch, and the Naturally PSL: Green Spaces and Places Program.

The winning cities will be announced on June 29.
