Today, Congressman Brian Mast paid tribute to three Palm Beach County Sheriff's deputies who died in the line of duty. In a speech delivered on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives, Mast honored Deputies Ignacio 'Dan' Diaz, Ralph 'Butch' Waller, and Cpl. Luis Paez.
“They put on their badge, donned body armor, holstered their pistols, and went to work. Their courage was as natural as breathing,” said Congressman Mast. “Plain and simple, they were warriors—strong, selfless, and committed to protecting others.”
The deputies lost their lives in a crash on November 21. At their funeral on December 3, Congressman Mast presented a flag flown over the U.S. Capitol to their families.
