High school students in Port St. Lucie are invited to bid farewell to the academic year in style with a Big Summer Blowout event on Thursday, May 30. The event, scheduled from noon to 4:30 p.m. at Minsky Gym, promises an afternoon of fun and entertainment featuring music, field-day contests such as tug-of-war, limbo, potato sack races, and hula hoops. Participants can also look forward to a 75-foot inflatable obstacle course and giant bowling.
But the fun doesn't stop there. Attendees will be treated to free food and drinks including pizza and other snacks.
The Big Summer Blowout is a new initiative by the City of Port St. Lucie, developed in collaboration with the city's Youth Council. The idea for the event was born out of data and research collected by the Youth Council from surveys conducted among teens at PSLinLights and Citizen Summit events. The findings revealed a strong demand for an event exclusively for teenagers.
The Youth Council will have its own booth at the Big Summer Blowout where attendees can learn about their achievements over the past year and explore opportunities to get involved.
This event is free of charge and open exclusively to high school students who can show valid school identification at Minsky Gym on the day of the event to receive an entry bracelet.
