The Florida Sheriffs Research Institute has analyzed a Department of Justice report on criminal victimization for violent and property crimes from 2017-2019. Despite Florida having a higher percentage of crimes reported to the police nationwide, victimization rates for violent crimes, property crimes, and burglary were significantly lower than the national rate.
