Today we kick off Women’s History Month. To mark the occasion, we’re remembering Katherine "Kitty" Bravakis, who was the agency's first female deputy.
Hired in 1952, she was also the first female to hold the rank of Chief Deputy. She retired in 1985 after 33 years of dedicated service. Chief Deputy Bravakis passed away February 8, 2021, at the age of 94.
