Winner of the 2021 Guitar Federation of America International Solo Guitar Competition.
The 2021 GFA solo contest winner is from Korea and her name is Bokyung Byun. Born in Seoul, South Korea, Byun started playing guitar at age six. She moved to the United States and entered The Juilliard School at age 16. She holds Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from Juilliard and a Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Southern California.The Treasure Coast Classical Guitar Society, a community for classical guitar enthusiasts, was formed in 2010 to promote the appreciation of classical guitar, provide opportunities for guitarists of all levels to meet and play together, and to sponsor professional concerts.
