City of Stuart issued the following announcement on Jan. 29.
The City of Stuart will be applying Reclamite Asphalt Rejuvenator to NW Dixie Highway & NE Cardinal Avenue starting on Saturday, February 1st, 2020. The maintenance work will require intermediate lane shifts and closures and is expected to be completed same day (weather permitting). The City will also be placing Variable Message Boards downtown to provide advance notice to the public.
Reclamite Asphalt Rejuvenator is a penetrating sealer that replaces the vital ingredients that have been lost from the pavement’s binder over time due to exposure to the sun’s UV rays, and wet weather. When applied on new pavement, the reclamite helps to protect the asphalt from damage due to elemental exposure, thereby extending the life expectancy of the roadway and reducing future costs and tax dollars needed for paving. Any material tracked onto driveways during this maintenance work will weather off in three weeks or less, leaving no stains.
