2021 has 5.7% of St. Lucie County residents unemployed

St. Lucie County recorded an unemployment rate of 5.7% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 8,455 people out of the 324,599 living in St. Lucie County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in St. Lucie County has increased compared to the 5.4% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in St. Lucie County was greater than the statewide unemployment rate of 5.3%.

Of the 141,136 people who had a job during that time, 351 were employed in the Armed Forces and 140,785 belonged to the civilian labor force.
