CITY OF STUART: East Stuart, Palm Beach, and Poppleton Low Pressure Sewer Basin Construction Project

Construction

City of Stuart issued the following announcement on March 6

Starting March 16, 2020, construction work will commence on a sewer expansion project in the East Stuart, Palm Beach, and Poppleton Basin areas and will continue through September 2020.  The City of Stuart has executed a contract with Felix Associates of Florida, LLC for the construction and installation of the sanitary sewer collection system within these basins.

The proposed sewer expansion program was authorized by the City Commission on May 13, 2019 and will expand sewer service into areas of the City using low pressure sewer system piping along road right-of-ways and utility easements.  The East Stuart, Palm Beach, and Poppleton Low Pressure Sewer Basins will provide sewer service to 193 single family homes and 46 commercial properties.  The project consists of approximately 10,840 linear feet of force main (2-inch to 3-inch diameter) valves, fittings, and appurtenances.

The City requests residents and businesses keep the area adjacent to the road (right-of-way) readily accessible so that construction work may be complete in a timely manner.  During construction driveways will remain accessible and mailboxes will remain in-place at all times.  There will be no changes to City of Stuart sanitation service or collection.

For any questions or for additional information on this project, please contact Mr. Marc Rogolino, the City’s Capital Projects Coordinator at (772) 221-4700.
