St. Lucie County recently recognized the winners of the Drop Savers poster contest, a competition aimed at promoting water conservation awareness among students from kindergarten to 12th grade. The event was organized by Port St. Lucie Utility Systems in collaboration with the Florida Section American Water Works Association (FSAWWA).
The recognition ceremony took place on April 28 during a Port St. Lucie City Council meeting, where winners were honored by the Mayor and City Council members. The contest is designed to educate young children and remind older students about the importance of conserving water.
This year, 55 students from seven schools, including a homeschool group, participated in creating posters that depicted ideas for water conservation. These entries came from various grade levels across St. Lucie County.
