As Independence Day nears, residents are reminded of changes to the garbage and recycling collection schedule. From Monday, June 30 to Thursday, July 3, collections will proceed as usual. However, there will be no garbage collection on Friday, July 4 due to landfill closure. Services will resume on Saturday, July 5.

St. Lucie County’s Area Regional Transit (ART) has announced a temporary change to Route 6 starting Monday, July 7. This adjustment is due to construction work by the City of Port St. Lucie on Floresta Drive, necessitating a detour from SE Fallon Drive to SE Greenway Terrace. While the route will change temporarily, no bus stops will be affected. Once construction is completed, Route 6 will return to its regular path.

The ART system is managed by St. Lucie County’s Transit Department and offers fare-free transit services across Fort Pierce, Port St. Lucie, St. Lucie Village, and other unincorporated areas within the county.

For more information about ART services or updates on routes, visit www.slcart.org or call 772-462-1778.
