Rep. Brian Mast, U.S. Congressman representing Florida’s 21st district since 2017, provided updates on legislative work, local safety advisories, and environmental concerns in a series of tweets posted on February 7, 2026.

In his first post of the day, Mast highlighted recent developments in Congress and local events: “Major update on legislation I’ve been working on for over a year, a reopened federal government, and a recent event in Cape Canaveral with @SecWar. Later that evening, Mast addressed public safety due to severe weather conditions affecting St. Lucie County: “Please be mindful of @StLucieGov’s county-wide burn ban to ensure we all stay safe in these extreme conditions.” (February 7, 2026).

Mast also commented on environmental issues impacting the region: “The drastic drop in temperatures caused a large fish kill in the Indian River Lagoon. If you see something unusual make sure to contact FWC immediately at 800-636-051 or https://t.co/20LW6euC2s.” (February 7, 2026).

Brian Mast has served as the U.S. Representative for Florida’s 21st District since replacing Patrick Murphy in 2017. He previously served in the Florida House of Representatives and is currently based in Fort Pierce. Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Mast graduated from Harvard University Extension School with a BA in 2016.
