Rep. Brian Mast, a U.S. Congressman representing Florida’s 21st district since 2017, posted a series of updates on his official social media account on February 23, 2026.

In the first post at 12:42 p.m., Mast declared, “The exploitation of taxpayers is over.”

Later that day, at 3:30 p.m., he issued a public safety warning: “A security alert has been issued for U.S. citizens in Mexico. If you are in one of the impacted locations, shelter in place immediately.”

At 5:30 p.m., Mast marked the anniversary of a high-profile crime, stating, “Yesterday marked two years since Laken Riley was murdered by a criminal & illegal alien. This should never have happened and it can never happen again.”

Mast has served as the representative for Florida’s 21st District since succeeding Patrick Murphy in 2017 and previously held office in the Florida House of Representatives. Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1980, Mast resides in Fort Pierce and holds a Bachelor’s degree from Harvard University Extension School.
