Rep. Brian Mast, who represents Florida’s 21st district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of updates on July 18, 2025, addressing federal spending, environmental concerns, and hurricane preparedness.

In a post at 16:11 UTC, Mast announced legislative action regarding government funds: “PASSED: $9B American taxpayer dollars clawed back from the federal government’s pocket. We’re keeping up the fight to codify @POTUS’s America First agenda.”

Later that day at 18:26 UTC, Mast issued a public health warning for his constituents in Martin County: ” TOXIC ALGAE ALERT A harmful algal bloom has been detected in the C-44 Canal in Martin County. Avoid all contact with the water in this area.”

At 20:01 UTC, Mast addressed residents along Florida’s Panhandle and Gulf Coast as hurricane season approached: “To our neighbors up on the Panhandle & Gulf Coast—stay vigilant, follow emergency alerts, avoid floodwaters, and review your evacuation plans. Let’s stay safe & prepared as we get into hurricane season.”

Mast has represented Florida’s 21st district since 2017 after succeeding Patrick Murphy and previously served in the Florida House of Representatives. He was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1980 and currently resides in Fort Pierce. Mast holds a BA from Harvard University Extension School.
