The following day, coinciding with Tax Day, Mast addressed constituents about the effects of Republican tax policy enacted in July of the previous year. In his April 16 post, he stated: “Today is Tax Day, and I’ve heard directly from people across our communities about how last July’s historic Republican tax cuts are impacting them.

I’ve talked a lot over the past year about what these cuts would mean but now, the results are in, and they speak for themselves.”

Later that same day, Mast congratulated a community member on an achievement in regional competition: “Congratulations Enrique Rosario-Liz, this is an incredible achievement. Good luck at regionals!
