Rep. Brian Mast, a U.S. Congressman representing Florida’s 21st district since 2017, posted several statements on social media in August 2025 addressing tax policy for seniors, support for law enforcement, and investments in military personnel.

On August 12, Mast highlighted new tax benefits for older Americans: “Thanks to the One Big Beautiful Bill, Americans 65+ can claim an EXTRA $6,000 tax deduction. Now seniors will get to keep more of what they’ve worked so hard to earn.”

The following day, Mast commented on rhetoric directed at law enforcement officers: “This is disgusting. Our law and immigration enforcement officers are dedicated servants who deserve our respect. This rhetoric is dangerous & incites violence against those that protect us and our communities.” The post was made on August 13.

Later that same day, Mast addressed improvements for service members and veterans: “Improving barracks, healthcare, and transition programs for active duty service members & veterans—with the passage of the One Big Beautiful Bill, we’re investing in those who committed their lives to our freedom.”

Mast has served in Congress since replacing Patrick Murphy in 2017 and previously held office in the Florida House of Representatives. Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1980 and currently residing in Fort Pierce, Mast earned his BA from Harvard University Extension School in 2016.
