Rep. Brian Mast, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Florida’s 21st district since 2017, posted several updates on April 16, 2026, highlighting his support for the military, engagement with students at the Capitol, and observations about the ongoing tax season.

In an early post, Mast expressed appreciation for military service members: “God bless all who have answered the call to serve. The United States Military is the best and strongest in the world.” (April 16, 2026).

Later that day, he shared an update from Washington D.C., writing: “Great to welcome students to the Capitol this morning. Always a good day when Florida’s in DC!” (April 16, 2026).

In another message regarding federal taxes, Mast commented on projections for this year’s refunds: “This tax season is one for the history books: refunds are projected to be the largest in U.S. history.” (April 16, 2026).

Mast has served as Florida’s representative in Congress since succeeding Patrick Murphy in 2017 and previously served in the Florida House of Representatives. He was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1980 and currently resides in Fort Pierce. In addition to his legislative experience, Mast earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Harvard University Extension School in 2016.
