Rep. Brian Mast, who has represented Florida’s 21st congressional district since 2017, recently highlighted the region’s environmental and national heritage in a series of posts on his official X account.
On April 7, Mast drew attention to a historic conservation area near his district, writing, “America’s first wildlife refuge—established in 1903—is right outside #FL21, another reason we love where we live and fight every day to protect it.”
The following day, April 8, Mast shared a post featuring an iconic symbol of the United States: “No better sight than America’s mascot hatching, a powerful reminder of the spirit and strength of our great country. “
Later that same day, he emphasized themes of progress and innovation by posting: “This is what American excellence looks like. The spirit of discovery, advancement, and breakthrough is alive and well.”
Mast succeeded Patrick Murphy in Congress in 2017 and previously served in the Florida House of Representatives. He was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1980 and currently resides in Fort Pierce. In addition to his legislative career, Mast earned his Bachelor’s degree from Harvard University Extension School in 2016.
