Rep. Brian Mast, a U.S. Congressman representing Florida’s 21st district since 2017, posted several statements on March 10, 2026, addressing airport security funding and the impact of a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) shutdown.

In a post published at 00:04 UTC, Mast wrote: “As long lines at the airport continue and our security is at risk, Democrats still refuse to fund TSA.”

Later that day, at 17:14 UTC, he highlighted the strength of the U.S. military by stating: “Our military’s capabilities, technology, and courage are unmatched. The men and women who serve our country are the world’s most elite warfighters.”

At 20:23 UTC on March 10, Mast commented on how travelers in Florida are affected by the ongoing government situation: “Florida travelers & Florida-bound travelers are among the hardest hit by the DHS shutdown. Democrats need to do the job they signed up for and fully open our government.”

Mast has represented Florida’s 21st District in Congress since succeeding Patrick Murphy in 2017. Before his tenure in Congress, he served in the Florida House of Representatives. Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1980 and currently residing in Fort Pierce, Mast earned his BA from Harvard University Extension School in 2016.
