Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, in 1980, Mast has been a member of Congress since 2017 after replacing Patrick Murphy and previously served in the Florida House of Representatives.

The following day, July 4th, he reflected on America’s history by stating “249 years ago, the Declaration of Independence was signed, and a new nation was born in the name of liberty and freedom.” He encouraged followers to honor those who have defended American freedoms throughout history.

Later that same day, Mast acknowledged an important anniversary for national security services: “This week marks 160 years since President Lincoln established the @SecretService.” He expressed gratitude towards generations of Secret Service officers for their commitment to protecting U.S. leaders with excellence and loyalty.
