Rep. Brian Mast, a U.S. Congressman representing Florida’s 21st district since 2017, announced new legislative efforts and praised colleagues in a series of posts on February 10, 2026.

In one post, Mast commended his team by stating, “Outstanding job guys, you are always at the tip of the spear.” (February 10, 2026).

He also introduced new legislation aimed at protecting families and their pets during natural disasters. In another tweet from the same day, Mast wrote: “I’m introducing the PETSAFE Act so that no family has to choose between leaving pets behind or risking their own safety during a weather-related disaster. My bill has support from both parties in both chambers—when we save our pets, we save human lives too.” (February 10, 2026).

Later that evening, Mast highlighted bipartisan cooperation with Rep. Scholten to address water pollution: “I’m working with @RepScholten to advance the Local Water Protection Act—a critical bipartisan piece of legislation that will empower us to tackle the most difficult pollutants in our fight for clean waterways.” (February 10, 2026).

Mast has served in Congress since replacing Patrick Murphy in 2017 and previously held office in the Florida House of Representatives. He was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1980 and resides in Fort Pierce. In addition to his legislative work, he graduated from Harvard University Extension School with a BA in 2016.
