Rep. Brian Mast, a U.S. Congressman representing Florida’s 21st district since 2017, recently shared his thoughts on several issues through social media. Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, in 1980, Mast currently resides in Fort Pierce and has a background that includes serving in the Florida House of Representatives and earning a BA from Harvard University Extension School.
On July 7, 2025, Rep. Mast highlighted the efforts of the Port St. Lucie Police Athletic League in building future leaders through mentoring programs. He emphasized the importance of these initiatives by stating “The Port St. Lucie Police Athletic League is building future leaders. Mentoring our youth strengthens trust & actively shapes the next generation of our communities’ protectors.”
Later that day, Rep. Mast expressed his concern for those affected by severe flooding in Texas. He conveyed his empathy and urged caution with the message: “My prayers are with everyone in Texas who has been affected by the floods, especially those who have lost loved ones or are still waiting for news about those who are unaccounted for.”
In another post on July 7, 2025, Rep. Mast criticized a proposed mining project that he believes could undermine environmental progress related to the Everglades Agricultural Area (EAA) Reservoir. He remarked “The Army Corps of Engineers finally said the quiet part out loud—this proposed mine threatens everything we’ve been working toward with the EAA Reservoir.” His statement underscores concerns about political influences potentially jeopardizing long-term environmental goals.
