Rep. Brian Mast, who has represented Florida’s 21st District in the U.S. Congress since 2017, recently addressed several issues on social media, ranging from child labor concerns to federal benefit protections and environmental initiatives. Mast, a Harvard University Extension School graduate born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, currently resides in Fort Pierce.
On July 11, 2025, Mast questioned the presence of unaccompanied, undocumented children working at a marijuana facility. He stated: “Why are there unaccompanied, undocumented CHILDREN working at a marijuana facility? This is NOT what our country stands for, and @POTUS is fixing it.”
The following day, July 12, 2025, Mast commented on measures to protect taxpayer-funded benefits. He wrote: “American taxpayers earned their benefits. @HHSGov is protecting those benefits by closing loopholes that let non-citizens drain the resources that our veterans, senior citizens, and struggling families need.”
Later on July 12, Mast highlighted an environmental initiative led by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC). He announced: “The @MyFWC 2025 Python Challenge has officially begun! Participants have 9 days—now through July 20—to remove as many invasive Burmese pythons from the Everglades as possible for a shot at the Ultimate Grand Prize.”
Brian Mast began his congressional service after replacing Patrick Murphy in 2017. Before joining Congress, he served in the Florida House of Representatives.
