Rep. Brian Mast, U.S. Congressman representing Florida’s 21st district since 2017, addressed several national issues in a series of posts on August 28, 2025. Mast highlighted the importance of artificial intelligence education, recent crime reduction statistics in Washington D.C., and fiscal claims regarding proposed legislation.

In his first post at 14:21 UTC, Mast emphasized technological preparedness for students and the nation: “Teaching our kids how to use artificial intelligence will serve them & our country in the long-run—this quickly advancing field is the future. @POTUS & @FLOTUS are working to make sure we’re ready for it!”

Later that day at 17:50 UTC, Mast referenced a significant decrease in carjackings in the capital following enhanced law enforcement efforts: “After 20 days, our nation’s capital has already seen an 87% reduction in carjackings. This is what happens when we let law enforcement do their jobs & protect our communities. Thank you @USNationalGuard @DCGuard1802 @DCPoliceDept!”

At 18:57 UTC, Mast commented on fiscal policy debates concerning a legislative proposal he supports: “MYTH: Opponents claim that The One Big Beautiful Bill adds to the deficit FACT: Through increasing tariff revenues, cutting wasteful spending, and reversing Biden-era regulations, the One Big Beautiful Bill will reduce the deficit by over SIX TRILLION DOLLARS.”

Mast has served as a U.S. Representative since replacing Patrick Murphy in Congress in 2017 and previously held office in the Florida House of Representatives. Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1980 and currently residing in Fort Pierce, Mast earned his BA from Harvard University Extension School in 2016.
