The City of Port St. Lucie has announced new operating hours for its Convenient Drop-Off Center, effective May 14, 2025. The center will now be open from Wednesday to Saturday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., and on Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., aligning with the county’s landfill hours.
In addition, Port St. Lucie invites the community to attend a Memorial Day service on Monday, May 26, 2025, at Veterans Memorial Park at 10 a.m. The event is intended to honor men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military.
The service will feature speeches by notable individuals including retired Col. Jon Schiff of the U.S. Army, who will share stories about the importance of remembering fallen heroes. Musical performances will include “God Bless America” and an armed forces medley by the Port St. Lucie Community Band. Attendees can also expect traditional elements such as a rifle salute, the national anthem, and taps.
Local leaders like Councilwoman Stephanie Morgan and Councilman David Pickett are expected to attend, with John Ramos of the U.S. Army leading the Pledge of Allegiance.
Due to limited seating availability, early arrival is recommended for those planning to attend; bringing personal chairs is advised.
