Beginning the week of July 7, Floresta Drive in Port St. Lucie will be closed between SE Fallon Drive and SE Greenway Terrace. This closure is to allow construction crews to install essential components of the area’s storm drainage system.

The City of Port St. Lucie is offering a free nine-session course aimed at educating residents about their local government. Participants will have the chance to learn about City operations and earn a certificate of completion, with an option to become a City Ambassador. The program is limited to 100 participants.

Registration for the course opens on Monday, July 21, with classes starting on Wednesday, August 20. Classes will take place every Wednesday from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., held at the Council Chambers at City Hall located at 121 SW Port St. Lucie Blvd.

The initiative aims to empower residents by providing an in-depth understanding of municipal functions, fostering civic engagement, and strengthening connections between the City and its community. Since its inception in 2016, more than 600 residents have participated in this program.

For those unable to attend in person, “Residents who cannot attend in person can access City U on Demand for flexible learning options.”
