As the holiday season nears, the City of Port St. Lucie has announced details for its PSLinLights festivities, set to begin on November 28 and run through December 31. The city will be decorated with over two million lights illuminating various locations from dusk until dawn.

Residents and visitors can participate in several activities throughout the season. These include a walk-through light experience, a residential holiday light contest, a holiday lights map, multiple photo-op displays, a scavenger hunt, and other events. More information is available at www.CityofPSL.com/PSLinLights.

The city encourages residents to register their homes for the decorating contest between November 26 and January 5. Registered homes will be added to an official self-guided tour map. Public voting for the best display will occur from January 6 to January 8, with winners announced on January 9.

According to the city’s announcement: “When contestants register their homes, the City adds the information into a searchable database with pictures, a description and address so residents can take a self-guided tour to see the decked-out homes. When driving by the decorated homes, please be courteous. Remember, the residential speed limit in Port St. Lucie neighborhoods is 25 mph.”

Several locations are highlighted for photo opportunities: Botanical Gardens at The Port District (2454 SE Westmoreland Boulevard), MIDFLORIDA Event Center (9221 SE Event Center Place), Community Center (2195 SE Airoso Boulevard), McChesney Park (1585 SW Cashmere Boulevard), and City Hall entrance (121 SW Port St. Lucie Boulevard). Residents are invited to share photos taken at these sites for potential features on city social media channels.

A free scavenger hunt and photo contest will also take place. Seven sandhill crane decorations will be hidden around popular landmarks and parks in Port St. Lucie; participants can find them, take photos, and submit entries for prizes.

Specific events include:

– The walk-through light experience at The Port District from dusk to 9 p.m., featuring themed displays such as turtles and flamingos.
– Pixel Light Show Spectacular at the Community Center nightly from dusk to 9 p.m.
