The City of Port St. Lucie is making changes to its Convenient Drop-Off Center operations, focusing on residents’ needs. The center will now operate from Wednesday to Saturday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., and on Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. It will no longer accept yard waste or construction materials, and residents are limited to three trips per month.

In celebration of Independence Day, the City of Port St. Lucie and the MIDFLORIDA Event Center are hosting the Fourth of July Ultimate Experience as part of the city’s Freedomfest celebration. This event offers exclusive terrace seating for viewing fireworks, beginning at 6:30 p.m. on July 4, 2025.

Entertainment includes a live concert by Rubixx: A Tribute to the 80s, along with family-friendly activities such as an interactive kids’ zone and a free photo booth inside the event center.

Attendees can enjoy the Blazin’ BBQ Buffet featuring pulled pork, pulled chicken, baked macaroni & cheese, coleslaw, brown sugar baked beans, and desserts. Guests aged 21 and over will receive champagne upon arrival and can try The Stars & Stripes Spritz cocktail.

Event Center Director David Stonehouse stated, “The Ultimate Experience offers an unforgettable way to celebrate Independence Day featuring live entertainment and prime seating for the Treasure Coast’s most spectacular fireworks display.”

Tickets cost $45 for adults and $15 for children aged 3-12; children under two enter free. Tickets are available at the MIDFLORIDA Event Center box office or online at etix.com.
