As the holiday season nears, the City of Port St. Lucie is notifying residents about adjustments to the garbage collection schedule following the holidays. According to city officials, “The following schedule will be in effect for collecting garbage, recycling, yard and bulk waste.”

The city’s Convenient Drop-off Center will be closed on Thursday, Dec. 25 and Friday, Dec. 26. It will reopen on Saturday, Dec. 27. Additionally, the Solid Waste Convenient Drop-Off Center located on Cameo Boulevard is set to permanently close on Jan. 5, 2026 due to reduced usage and financial concerns related to its continued operation.

Officials noted that only three holidays impact solid waste collection services: July 4, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Collection services will continue as usual during other holidays such as New Year’s Day.

Residents are encouraged to assist with curbside collection efforts by following guidelines provided by the city.
