Noche Buena returns Dec. 19 with music and community activities at The Port District

As the holiday season nears, the City of Port St. Lucie has announced changes to its trash collection schedule following the holidays and is inviting residents to its annual Noche Buena event. The celebration will take place on Friday, December 19, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at The Event Lawn in The Port District, located at 2454 SE Westmoreland Blvd.

The event will feature a live performance by Latin artist Elsten Torres, who is known for his contributions to Latin rock in the 1990s and has received two Grammy nominations, two BMI Awards, and six Billboard top ten hits, including a five-week number one single.

In addition to music and dancing, attendees can enjoy food from Latin food trucks and view the PSLinLights holiday display before festivities begin. Admission is free for all guests. Residents are encouraged to participate in the Toys for Tots drive by bringing a new, unwrapped toy.

“Noche Buena is just one of the options for live music this holiday season. You can also get your groove on at:” stated city organizers.

Port St. Lucie serves as an integrated community with high homeownership rates and diversity among its population according to its official website. The city covers 121 square miles and had a population of about 260,000 people as reported by city officials, making it Florida’s third-largest city by land area (source). As part of efforts to preserve local history, historic buildings such as Peacock Lodge (1952) and Peacock House (1917) were relocated near the St. Lucie River in 2018 with state grant support (source).
