Rep. Brian Mast, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Florida’s 21st district, has recently taken to social media to express his commitment to environmental conservation and honor historical military sacrifices. Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Mast has served since 2017 after replacing Patrick Murphy and resides in Fort Pierce.
On June 5, 2025, Rep. Mast acknowledged World Environment Day by highlighting the natural beauty of his constituency: “It’s #WorldEnvironmentDay, and I’m proud to represent a community with some of the most beautiful waterways, beaches, and ecosystems on the planet. I’ll keep fighting to preserve our Treasure Coast and Palm Beaches.”
The following day, on June 6, he commemorated D-Day by honoring those who fought during this pivotal moment in history: “Today, we honor the heroes of D-Day. The troops who stormed the beaches of Normandy 81 years ago to defend freedom changed the course of history. We will never forget their sacrifice and commitment to defeating tyranny.”
Additionally, Rep. Mast addressed concerns regarding drug trafficking through Florida’s waters during a hearing with Acting Admiral Lunday from the Coast Guard on June 6: “Safeguarding FL’s waters from drug trafficking is crucial. Today in a @TransportGOP hearing, I asked Acting ADM Lunday about how Coast Guard operations have changed since this Admin got to work. And I got to thank my neighbors — the Coasties who serve at @USCG Station Ft Pierce.”
As an alumnus of Harvard University Extension School with a Bachelor of Arts degree earned in 2016, Rep. Mast continues his legislative efforts focusing on both environmental issues and national security.
