The City has announced that Floresta Drive will undergo a full closure starting the week of July 7. The closure, which is set to last until early September, will stretch between SE Fallon Drive and SE Greenway Terrace. This measure is necessary for construction crews to install essential components of the area’s storm drainage system.

Both northbound and southbound lanes on Floresta Drive will be affected by this closure. In addition to enhancing the drainage system, the project includes constructing new roadways, sidewalks, curbs, medians, and green spaces as part of an upgrade to Floresta Drive. Detour signs will be installed ahead of time, directing traffic through alternative routes via Crosstown Parkway and Prima Vista Boulevard.

Local streets will remain open for those who miss the detour, ensuring that residents living within the closed section maintain access to their homes.

Additionally, SE Arton Lane at its southern intersection with Harborview Drive is closed through early July for a drainage pipe installation. Although driveways in this area won’t be blocked, some residents may need to use Harborview Drive off Floresta to reach their homes.

Residents are also reminded about changes in waste collection schedules during Independence Day week. Regular collections will occur from Monday, June 30 to Thursday, July 3. However, there will be no garbage collection on Friday, July 4 due to landfill closures; services will resume on Saturday, July 5.
