Rep. Brian Mast, a U.S. Congressman representing Florida’s 21st district since 2017, posted a series of statements on social media addressing commercial driver safety and language requirements for drivers in the United States.
On December 2, 2025, Mast commented on progress made within the first year of an unspecified initiative, stating, “And we’re only in Year One.”
Later that day, he highlighted recent federal action regarding commercial driver license (CDL) training centers: “Removing nearly 3,000 CDL training centers from the federal registry because they failed to meet our safety standards is GOOD NEWS. No more incapable drivers risking American lives.”
On December 3, Mast addressed language proficiency among drivers with a direct statement: “It’s simple—if you can’t speak English, you can’t drive on American roads.”
Mast has served as the representative for Florida’s 21st District since replacing Patrick Murphy in 2017. He previously held office in the Florida House of Representatives and graduated from Harvard University Extension School in 2016 with a bachelor’s degree. Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1980, Mast currently resides in Fort Pierce.
