Rep. Brian Mast, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Florida’s 21st district, shared a series of tweets on May 8 and May 9, 2025. These tweets reflect his engagement with both religious and community matters, as well as his ongoing advocacy for veterans’ rights.

On May 8, Rep. Mast extended his blessings to the newly elected Pope Leo XIV in a historic moment for the Catholic Church: “May God bless Pope Leo XIV and guide the first American papacy in history.”

In recognition of Small Business Week on May 9, Rep. Mast highlighted local entrepreneurs from his district: “It’s Small Business Week, and I am proud to highlight two members of our community– Walter and Rita, both Navy veterans and small business owners right here in the 21st district.” He commended their service to both country and community.

Later that day, Rep. Mast underscored his commitment to supporting veterans through legislative action: “Taking care of our veterans is not a partisan issue. It’s an American duty.” He advocated for the GAMES Act which aims to enable all injured veterans to participate in the Warrior Games.

Brian Mast has been serving in Congress since replacing Patrick Murphy in 2017. A veteran himself with roots in Grand Rapids, Michigan, he resides in Fort Pierce and holds a degree from Harvard University Extension School.
