Rep. Brian Mast, U.S. Congressman representing Florida’s 21st district since 2017, has used his social media platform to address issues related to hurricane preparedness, wildlife protection, and environmental pollution in a series of recent posts.

On July 22, 2025, Mast reminded his constituents about the ongoing hurricane season with a brief message: “As hurricane season continues, here’s your reminder to stay prepared.”

The following day, July 23, he commended local agencies for their efforts in wildlife rescue. In his post he stated: ” Kudos to @MyFWC and @MartinCountyFR for saving the day, and this Loggerhead sea turtle! These incredible creatures come to our shores to nest and seek protection. It’s up to us to return the favor and protect them in return. If you ever see an animal in distress, call FWC’s”.

Later on July 23, Mast addressed environmental concerns by identifying pollution as the primary cause of nutrient buildup: “What causes legacy nutrient build up? – Pollution, plain and simple.”

Mast has represented Florida’s 21st District since replacing Patrick Murphy in Congress in 2017. He previously served in the Florida House of Representatives. Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1980 and currently residing in Fort Pierce at age 42, Mast earned a BA from Harvard University Extension School in 2016.
