U.S. Representative Brian Mast, who serves Florida’s 21st district, addressed several local and national issues in a series of posts on July 21, 2025.
In his first post of the day, Mast raised concerns about water quality in Lake Okeechobee. He wrote, “Recent tests for blue-green algae registered an alarming 53 parts per billion of Microcystin at Canal Point, just north of the Pahokee Marina along Lake Okeechobee. Later that afternoon, Mast commented on public safety trends nationwide. He stated, “A WIN for law & order: While deportations increase, the U.S. is on track for the lowest murder rate ever recorded. #BackTheBlue https://t.co/geuTMMv2zB” (July 21, 2025).
In a third post recognizing local achievements, Mast congratulated Martin County Fire Rescue for their performance in a regional competition: “Congrats to @MartinCountyFR for taking top honors at the Southeast Regional Firefighter Challenge! Your dedication & skill is impressive—our community is safer thanks to you. Now on to Nationals! https://t.co/7JbtGnscFA” (July 21, 2025).
Mast has represented Florida’s 21st district in Congress since replacing Patrick Murphy in 2017 and previously served in the Florida House of Representatives. Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1980 and currently residing in Fort Pierce, he earned his BA from Harvard University Extension School in 2016.
